Artscape
Artscape is a not-for-profit, urban development organization that revitalizes buildings, neighbourhoods, and cities through the arts. Artscape projects provide affordable space for creativity while generating positive cultural, economic, social, and environmental impact. While Artscape’s real estate development activities are focused in Toronto, it also shares knowledge with other urban centres and communities across Canada and around the world.

MaRS
MaRS is a non-profit innovation hub connecting science, technology and social entrepreneurs with business skills, networks and capital to stimulate innovation and accelerate the creation and growth of successful enterprises. Anchored in an architecturally inspiring 700,000 sq. ft complex, the MaRS team advises hundreds of start-ups across Ontario, offers a range of entrepreneurial programs and dynamic events, and houses tenants across the innovation spectrum from leading research labs and start-up companies to venture capital and multinational firms. The Collaborative City conference mirrors MaRS’ philosophy of “convergence innovation” - bridging disparate disciplines to stimulate innovative thinking, forge productive new partnerships and build Canada’s knowledge economy.

Martin Prosperity Institute
The Lloyd & Delphine Martin Prosperity Institute is the world's leading think-tank on the role of sub-national factors - location, place and city-regions - in global economic prosperity. Led by Director Richard Florida, we take an integrated view of prosperity, looking beyond economic measures to include the importance of quality of place and the development of people's creative potential. The Institute conducts relevant research to shape debate about economic prosperity and to inform private, public and civic decision-making at the highest levels.

City of Toronto - Economic Development, Culture & Tourism
The mission of the City of Toronto's Economic Development - Culture & Tourism Division is to contribute to an economically strong, socially enjoyable and culturally vibrant city. Through the Agenda for Prosperity and Creative City Planning Framework, we have sought to engage partners in the planning and development of the city's economy and cultural services. The current and ongoing trends of globalization means that place - and the attributes of place - matter more than ever. Recognizing Artscape's trailblazing work in developing creative communities, we're extremely proud to be one of four collaborative partners in the 2009 Creative Places + Spaces: The Collaborative City conference. As Toronto rides an unprecedented wave of creative and cultural successes, more than ever we need a commitment to shared action. By gaining a better understanding of collaboration, we hope to help mobilize, integrate and transform Toronto's character and diverse identify.
